The 2027 TCS Amsterdam Marathon is on Sunday 31 October 2027, later than its usual mid October date, and starts and finishes at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam Zuid. Runners: stay in the Olympic quarter or by Station Zuid and walk to the start. Supporters: stay in Oud-Zuid, where the course passes the Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum at km 2, 4, 38 and 40. Race morning
Take the metro or train to Station Zuid and follow the signed walking route to the Olympic Stadium, about 20 minutes; trams and buses are limited on race day and you cannot park at the stadium. In 2026 the start zone opened at 07:00 and waves started from 09:00 to 09:43, half the field inside the stadium and half on Stadionweg outside, with bag drop tents at both. Clocks go back one hour at 03:00 on race morning, so check any alarm that does not update itself. Bibs are only handed out at the Marathon Expo before race day (at RAI Amsterdam, Thursday to Saturday, in 2026), never on race day.

Rijksmuseum
Runners go right through the passage under the Rijksmuseum, then come back along the Stadhouderskade at km 38. Use the marked crossing on the Stadhouderskade, and walk 10 minutes to Vijzelgracht metro to move on.

Amstel Business Park
After 12 km beside the Amstel, runners loop through this business park with music and big crowds. From Vijzelgracht take metro 52 to Station Zuid and change to metro 51 for Overamstel, about 30 minutes, while your runner covers 22 km.

km 40 (mile 25)
Vondelpark
From Overamstel take metro 51 back to Station Zuid and metro 52 to Vijzelgracht, cross the Stadhouderskade at the marked crossing and walk about 20 to 25 minutes west into the park, so allow about 50 minutes in all. Leave as soon as your runner passes, because they need only 9 to 14 km to get here.

Meet your runner
Watch the finish from the covered stands in the Olympic Stadium, or wait in the Fan Zone outside, where meeting points were marked with flags in 2026. It is about 25 minutes on foot from the Vondelpark. Recent race-day advice closed Amstelveenseweg metro station from 13:00 to 18:00, so plan to go home from Station Zuid.

Globalrunning.com, the official travel partner, sells hotel packages of at least 3 nights with breakfast, and a guaranteed race entry can be added, which helps if you miss the December sale. Its 2027 dates and prices are not out yet, and the terms are strict: half the price is due within 10 days of booking and cancelling always costs at least half.

Near the Olympic Stadium or Station Zuid, so you can walk to the start and back from the finish. Oud-Zuid suits supporters, and Overamstel and Sloterdijk cost less with a direct metro to Station Zuid.
