Race morning
No shuttle buses are listed, and you do not need one: the Metro runs all night from Saturday into Sunday. In 2026 the bag drop was on Passeig de Lluís Companys by the Arc de Triomf (L1), about 1.3 km from the start, so runners dropped their bag first and walked 15 to 20 minutes to their corral. Without a bag, ride straight to Catalunya (L1, L3), Passeig de Gràcia (L2, L3, L4) or Urquinaona (L1, L4). In 2026 the streets around Plaça de Catalunya closed from 5:00 and the waves left by bib colour between 8:30 and 9:50.

Questions
Where should I stay for the Barcelona Marathon?
Around Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia, in the Gothic Quarter or in El Born, so you can walk to the start and back from the finish. Sant Antoni and Poblenou are on the course, and Plaça d'Espanya and Poble-sec often cost less with direct Metro trains to the start.
Does the Barcelona Marathon still start at Plaça d'Espanya?
No. Since 2024 it starts on Passeig de Gràcia by Plaça de Catalunya and finishes on Passeig de Lluís Companys by the Arc de Triomf. In 2026 only the expo was by Plaça d'Espanya, at Fira de Barcelona.
How do I get to the start on race morning?
By Metro, which runs all night from Saturday into Sunday. In 2026 the bag drop was on Passeig de Lluís Companys (Arc de Triomf, L1), about 1.3 km from the start, so runners dropped their bag first and walked. Without a bag, ride to Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia or Urquinaona.
Where can supporters watch the Barcelona Marathon?
Sagrada Família (km 14), the Gran Via by Rambla de Catalunya (km 19), the seafront by the Hotel Arts (km 28) and the Diagonal at Rambla del Poblenou, where runners pass twice. The L2 and the yellow L4 Metro lines link them.
When should I book my hotel for the Barcelona Marathon?
As soon as you enter, with free cancellation. Entries are first come, first served, the 2026 race sold out by early January, and 2027 entries close at 37,000 runners or on 7 March 2027.
When and where is the 2027 expo?
Expo Sports runs from Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 March 2027, and you must collect your bib there by 20:00 on Saturday (none on race day). The 2027 venue is not announced yet; in 2026 it was Fira de Barcelona on Montjuïc, by Plaça d'Espanya.
