The 2027 GENERALI Berlin Half Marathon is on Sunday 4 April 2027, starting on Straße des 17. Juni between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate and finishing just past the gate. Runners should stay in Mitte, around Potsdamer Platz or by Hauptbahnhof and walk to the start. Supporters do best near the S-Bahn or U-Bahn, to cheer on the Kurfürstendamm and on Karl-Marx-Allee before meeting their runner by the Paul-Löbe-Haus. Places were drawn in June 2026 and the expo opens on Friday 2 April, so book now with free cancellation.

Race morning
There is no shuttle, and you do not need one: in 2026 your bib was a free ticket on Berlin's trains and buses (zones A and B) from 05:00 to 19:00 on race day. Take the S-Bahn or U-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstraße or Brandenburger Tor and walk to the runners' entrance by the Reichstag (on Platz der Republik in 2026), which opened at 07:30. Only runners with a bib and the wristband from the expo get in, and bags are not allowed unless you booked the 5 euro clothing bag. In 2026 runners were asked to be in their start area 60 minutes before their wave; the first runners start at 10:05.

Watch the race
Cheer on the Kurfürstendamm, take the S-Bahn across town to see your runner twice on Karl-Marx-Allee, then ride the U5 back to the Brandenburg Gate to meet them.

Bands and big crowds from the Memorial Church to the KaDeWe, a short walk from Zoologischer Garten station. Then take the S-Bahn (S3, S5, S7 or S9) from Zoologischer Garten straight to Alexanderplatz, about 15 minutes, while your runner covers about 8 km.

Karl-Marx-Allee
Walk about 10 minutes east from Alexanderplatz towards Schillingstraße station. Runners go out to the turn at Strausberger Platz and come back, so you get two looks. Then take the U5 from Alexanderplatz to Brandenburger Tor, under 10 minutes.

Meet your runner
Only runners may enter the finish area, though there is limited free standing room on both sides just before the line, entered beside the Brandenburg Gate. Meet in front of the Paul-Löbe-Haus, where signs from A to Z run between the gate and Scheidemannstraße (2026 set-up); the race suggests the first letter of your surname.

Where should I stay for the Berlin Half Marathon?
Mitte, Potsdamer Platz or the area around Hauptbahnhof, so you can walk to the start and back from the finish. Alexanderplatz and Charlottenburg are on the course with direct trains to the start, and Friedrichshain costs less.

Can I still get a place in the 2027 Berlin Half Marathon?
The runners' lottery closed in May 2026 and results went out on 16 June 2026. Places are personal and cannot be transferred, so the ways in now are the race's charity partners and official tour operators.
When and where is the Berlin Half Marathon expo?
At the former Tempelhof Airport (Platz der Luftbrücke 5) on Friday 2 April 2027 from 09:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 3 April from 09:00 to 19:00. Bibs are only handed out there, in person, so plan to be in Berlin by Saturday.
