The 2027 GENERALI Berlin Marathon is on Sunday 26 September 2027. It starts and finishes on Straße des 17. Juni in the Tiergarten, a few hundred metres from the Brandenburg Gate. Runners: stay in Mitte, around Potsdamer Platz or by Hauptbahnhof and walk to the start. Supporters: stay near a U-Bahn line so you can cheer at Hermannplatz and on the Kurfürstendamm, then meet your runner after the finish. Lottery results come out on Thursday 3 December 2026, so book a room with free cancellation before then.

Race morning
There is no shuttle to the start, because you do not need one: take the S-Bahn or U-Bahn to Brandenburger Tor or Hauptbahnhof and walk into the start area in the Tiergarten. Roads around the Tiergarten close early, so do not plan on a taxi. In 2025 your race bib was also a free ticket on Berlin's buses and trains (zones A, B and C) from Thursday to Sunday. Starts are in waves by your start block, which is printed on your bib.

The race site links to a hotel portal with rooms set aside for the nights of 25 and 26 September 2027, from about 79 euros a night. It does not publish its minimum stay or cancellation terms, so check them before you pay.

Where should I stay for the Berlin Marathon?
Mitte, Potsdamer Platz or the area around Hauptbahnhof, so you can walk to the start and back from the finish. Charlottenburg, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain cost less and are a short train ride away.
Is it better to stay near the start or the finish?
In Berlin you do not have to choose. The start and the finish are both on Straße des 17. Juni in the Tiergarten, so one base covers both.
How do I get to the start on race morning?
Take the S-Bahn or U-Bahn to Brandenburger Tor or Hauptbahnhof and walk into the Tiergarten. Roads close early, so skip taxis.
Where can supporters watch the Berlin Marathon?
Hermannplatz (km 16), Wilder Eber (km 28), the Kurfürstendamm (km 34) and Potsdamer Platz (km 38.5) are all good. Hermannplatz then the Kurfürstendamm works well on the U-Bahn.
