Where to stay for the 2027 Paris Marathon

In short

The ASICS Marathon de Paris is on Sunday 4 April 2027, its 50th edition. It starts on the Champs-Élysées and finishes on Avenue Foch, two avenues that meet at the Arc de Triomphe. Runners: stay around Étoile, in the 8th, or in the 16th and 17th near Avenue Foch, and walk to the start and back. Supporters: stay near Métro line 1 or RER A, because the 2027 route stays secret until a few weeks before race day. Ballot results are out, so book a room you can cancel now.

Race morning

The start is on the Champs-Élysées. Charles de Gaulle-Étoile (Métro 1, 2, 6 and RER A), George V and Franklin D. Roosevelt (Métro 1) are all on the avenue. In 2026 the waves started between 08:00 and 11:30, and RATP warned of crowds and access controls at the main stations from 06:30 to 08:30. The 2027 start times, corrals and access plan are not published yet.

Watch the race

The 2027 route stays secret until a few weeks before race day, so plan around the two fixed points: the start on the Champs-Élysées and the finish on Avenue Foch, a short walk apart at the Arc de Triomphe.

  1. Champs-Élysées, the start

See your runner set off. Métro line 1 runs under the Champs-Élysées and across central Paris; check it against the 2027 route when it is published to plan your next spot.

  2. Meet your runner

The finish is on Avenue Foch. The 2027 meeting area is not published yet. In 2026 RATP told supporters to use a station a little farther away and walk the last part, because the main stations get very busy.

Questions

Where should I stay for the Paris Marathon 2027?

Around Étoile and the Arc de Triomphe if you can: the start (Champs-Élysées) and the finish (Avenue Foch) both begin at that square. Next best is the 8th, the 16th or the 17th, or anywhere on Métro line 1 or RER A, which run straight to Charles de Gaulle-Étoile.

Where does the Paris Marathon 2027 start and finish?

The organizers have confirmed a start on the Champs-Élysées and a finish on Avenue Foch, on Sunday 4 April 2027. Exact start and finish lines, corrals and access will be published closer to race day.

Is the 2027 Paris Marathon course the same as 2026?

Not known yet. The race has a new organizer for 2027, and it says the route will have new sections and will be shown only a few weeks before the race. Only the start and the finish are confirmed.

How do I get to the start on race morning?

Take the Métro or RER: Charles de Gaulle-Étoile (Métro 1, 2, 6 and RER A), George V and Franklin D. Roosevelt (Métro 1) are on the Champs-Élysées. In 2026 the Champs-Élysées and Avenue Foch closed to traffic from midnight, so plan on public transport.

I did not get a bib in the ballot. Can I still run?

Possibly. You stay in the draw for any later rounds, the official resale platform opens on 1 December 2026, charity bibs (Dossards Engagés) need at least 420 euros in donations, and partner tour operators will sell packages with a bib.

When should I book?

Now, with free cancellation. Ballot results went out from 1 October 2026, so runners are booking already, and a cancellable room lets you adjust once the route is published.
