The 2027 Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich is expected on Sunday 5 December 2027, though the organisers have not confirmed the date yet. It starts at Plaça de la Marató by the Montolivet bridge and finishes on a walkway over the lake at the City of Arts and Sciences, a few hundred metres apart. Runners: stay around the City of Arts and Sciences or in Ruzafa and walk to the start. Supporters: El Pla del Real is a short walk from the Blasco Ibáñez and Alameda cheer spots. Entry is now by ballot and the 2027 dates are not out yet (the 2026 draw was on 12 January), so book a room with free cancellation now.

Race morning
The start is at Plaça de la Marató, at the south end of the Montolivet bridge. In 2025 metro line 10 ran only from the Alacant stop to Amado Granell-Montolivet on race morning, a 10 to 15 minute walk from the start, from about 06:00 (every 5 minutes from 06:30 to 09:00). Other metro lines also opened early, and a free four-trip Metrovalencia ticket was issued for the race weekend. Alameda, on lines 3 and 5, is about 2 km from the start. In 2025 roads around the start closed from the Friday night before, so do not count on a taxi to the door. In 2026 the nine waves start between 08:15 and 09:35, and you can only leave a bag if you booked and paid for bag drop in advance.

Stand by Plaça d'Emilio Attard, where Doctor Manuel Candela meets the avenue: runners pass at km 8 and come back along Blasco Ibáñez at km 16, so you see them twice without moving.

Passeig de l'Albereda
Walk about 1.4 km to Plaça de Saragossa on the Alameda, a popular spot, for the km 25 pass. If you skip the km 16 sighting you can catch the first Alameda pass at km 14 here as well.

Avinguda de Jacinto Benavente
Walk about 500 metres across the Turia gardens, past the Palau de la Música, to the last full kilometre, crossing the course only where marshals allow. It can get crowded, so agree the exact spot with your runner beforehand.

Meet your runner
The finish is about 1 km further on, on the walkway over the lake by l'Hemisfèric. The 2027 meeting area is not published yet; a local running blog suggests meeting by the bag drop on Avinguda del Professor López Piñero, next to l'Umbracle.
The official hotels, explained
The race's official travel service is Welcome to Valencia, run by Transvia Sport. The race's travel page (last updated in December 2024) lists free cancellation for injury, late check-out until 16:00 on race day, a runners' breakfast from 06:00 and a free race-day transfer to the start and back from hotels more than 2 km away, for runners and supporters. The 2027 booking page is not open yet and other terms depend on each hotel, so check them all before you pay.

Where do I collect my bib for the Valencia Marathon?
In 2026 bibs are collected in person at Expo 42K at Feria Valencia, from Thursday to Saturday before the race, and there is no collection on race day. Feria Valencia is north-west of the centre, far from the start, so plan the trip. The 2027 expo dates are not published yet.
